Elaine McCluskey writes contemporary novels and short stories set in the Maritimes. Her collection Rafael Has Pretty Eyes won the 2023 Alistair MacLeod prize for short fiction. McCluskey has been, at various times, a Canadian Press bureau chief, a University of King’s lecturer, a writing coach, and a book editor. She lives in Dartmouth, N.S. Her seventh book, a novel entitled The Gift Child, is scheduled for release in Spring 2024 with GLE.
